narrative

I am learning to write a narrative. A narrative is a fiction story, in other words, a made-up story. I found this hard because I did not know what the plot or the problem and the whole story was going to be about. Something I would change in my writing is to write more and use better words when possible.     I really enjoyed writing this story because I could use my imagination and no one saying that my work is bad.

Dog

I have been learning to find and summarise information by choosing the most important information. in a text we have to research and summarise information about a specific type of dog I found is tricky because some of the things I didn't know like six facts what it eats. My next step is to do more research and ask for help if I need it.

Character Actions

I am learning to relate to the characters in the text to understand their purpose. My next step is to be able to describe and explain character from the text. I found this hard at first but it got easier after I relisted that the consequence didn't have a bad consequence.

A moment in time.

I am learning to write a moment in time. To have a good moment in time you have to make sure you have the FOUR of the keywords at the start of every sentence. The four keywords are, saw heard felt and wondered. I found this easy because I already knew what an exciting moment in time it was. My next step is to use better and longer sentences when I am doing a piece of writing like this.

Summarise

I am learning to summarise a text. To summarise a text you have to first read the book and then you have to say the main highlights in the book. I found this easy to summarise the text because all I had to do was read some paragraphs and it gave me the right info that I wanted.

2D and 3D Shapes

In this activity, you have to write if it is a 2D or 3D shape.  You also have to know how much sides it has, the number of faces and the name of the shape. I found this hard because I do not know how to write the correct spelling of some words and some of these shapes I do not remember.

My Speech 2019

My Reflection

I have been learning to write a persuasive speech. I found writing my title-challenging because I kept changing my tile to one thing to another. something I learned was you don't need a good title to write a good speech. I found it nerve-racking to do my speech in front of the whole class but I felt good after my speech. My next step is to use peel paragraphs.

All about Matariki

We have been learning about Matariki. I found this work interesting because I learned something that I didn't know yet like the seven sisters names and when the stars come out. I know now what the seven stars names are it is right in my slid if you read it.

Reading using Expression

My Reflection



I have been learning to use expression when I read out loud. We read a play called 'Robin Hood and the Siver Trophy .' I think I can use better expression next time. I found this hard because my normal voice is very soft and quiet, and in this play, you have to be loud, not quiet. My next step is to be less quiet.

My Statistical Investigation

My Reflection

I have been learning to use the  Statistical inquiry cycle to carry out an investigation. My investigation was to see how many liked what kind of animals. I was not surprised that puppies won. I  now know what to do to mack a graph.  My next step is to display the data using a different  graph.

My Reflection I have been learning to write a variety of sentences to use in my stories to mack them more interesting for readers.  My favorite sentences type is very short sentences.  A sentence that I found tricky was the two-word sentences because I wanted to use more words but I couldn't do it. My next step is to use a variety of interesting sentences in my writing.

ANZAC A-Z

I have been learning to and summarise information. We have been learning about ANZAC Day. Something that I learned was that I learned what I did not know like a quartermaster and corporal. Something that I  found interesting was the picture and how they really looked.j

I have been learning to find and summarise information by choosing the most important information.  Summarising is a good learning prose for me. I found this interesting because we had to find information about her and there were facts I didn't know about. My next step is to keep practising to summarise information.
